University Educational Assistant III
President’s Office


The University of Connecticut President’s Office is seeking applicants for the highly visible and confidential position of University Educational Assistant III.  This position independently performs a full range of confidential support services, requiring a general understanding of an organization’s operation.  Responsibilities include:  performing office processes; completing necessary paperwork; assisting in preparing and monitoring various office procedures and reports; providing office support; tracking correspondence to assure expeditious response; proofreading documents prepared by the President’s Office staff; assisting in the compilation of data and information used in the collective bargaining process; compiling information from a variety of sources and assisting with preparing narrative or statistical reports; coordinating and making arrangements for meetings, conferences and travel; monitoring and screening documentation and reports; serving as a liaison and resource person to University Departments and other constituents regarding routine information and Departments policies and procedures; participating in cooperative efforts to provide administrative support to the Department Managers or Executives as needed; supervising students and performing other duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications:  Associate Degree or equivalent combination of experience and training; three years of experience in a responsible related support position; demonstrated word processing and computer training and expertise in MS Office, including Excel spreadsheets, Word, Word Perfect, PowerPoint; exceptional organizational skills and an ability to resolve routine office problems professionally, efficiently, effectively and independently; demonstrated oral and written communication skills; strong communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with a diverse population; strong interpersonal skills and work ethic; ability to work under tight deadlines, manage multiple assignments efficiently, and effectively and work independently with minimum supervision.

Preferred Qualifications:  Proficiency in BRIO/FRS Mainframe applications.
