
Guidance on Re-Hired Retirees in Response to Executive Order #27
Effective and applicable to any new rehired retirees and any renewals of re-hired retirees on and after June 26, 2009
The Board policy on rehired retirees remains in effect with the following modifications:
- The pay rates should not exceed 75% of the individual’s pre-retirement RATE of pay for 120 days of work if rehired into the position the individual just retired from.
- Faculty re-hired for teaching assignments only will be paid at the adjunct rate.
- The pay rates for individuals rehired into different jobs than that from which they retired should be consistent with the duties to be performed and should not exceed the minimum salary for the job.
- Proposals to re-hire retirees into senior administrative positions (at the level of Assistant Vice President, Assistant or Associate Dean or Provost and above ) require prior review and approval by the President or his designee.
