The Hartford Long Term Disability Insurance


All employees not eligible for the TIAA CREF Long Term Disability plan may choose to apply for The Hartford Long Term Disability Plan.  Employees who choose this plan pay the full cost at the rates indicated in the brochure.  Premiums are based on the employee's age.  The waiting period for benefits to begin is a choice of 30, 60 or 120 days.  This plan can be converted to an individual plan upon employment separation.  This plan covers partial disability as well.  New employees may enroll without evidence of insurability during the first 60 days of employment.  Details for this plan are available in the "How to Protect Your Most Valuable Asset" brochure.
