CT State In-Service Programs

The Department of Administrative Services and Connecticut’s Community College System are partners in providing a variety of training opportunities for Connecticut State Employees. The Department of Human Resources provides the service for registration and collection of payment for University of Connecticut employees who wish to participate in this program.

University of Connecticut Employees who would like to register for In-Service Training courses should discuss funding and approval with their supervisor and then complete the on-line request form.

** All Facilities Operations Employees are required to begin their registration process through the Facilities office**

DEADLINE INFORMATION:  The University administrative deadline for the submission of applications to Human Resources on AccessNow is Friday, February 6, 2015.

Please NOTE...
  1. Once training has been booked, In-Service training course fees are non-refundable.
  2. Departments committing to pay for their employee will be charged if the employee does not attend the class.  If the original employee is unable to attend, a substitute employee may be sent without approval from Human Resources.
  3. All employees must obtain supervisory permission to attend training courses.  When you submit your electronic request, a confirmation e-mail will be sent to you and your supervisor with notification that the KFS number provided on the application will be charged.
  4. Seating Confirmations will be e-mailed after Friday, February 13, 2015.
  5. Inclement weather postponements:  Check the college website or listen to radio and TV stations for individual college closings.  When in doubt call the college in question.  When classes are held students are expected to attend and no refunds or credits will be given for non-attendance.

CEUI/Technical Courses for NP-2 Bargaining Unit Members

The Connecticut Employees Union Independent offers a catalog of courses for their members each semester. The catalog includes courses that will help employees enhance their skills to meet and support the University's goals efficiently and with a high level of customer service.

Spring 2015 CEUI courses are now open for registration. They are open to NP-2 employees only. These courses are offered through the State-In-Service Training Program and administered for UConn by Human Resources. CEUI course descriptions, along with the application form, may be located at Course catalogs are also available through your department.

Important to Note:

  • CEUI courses are offered free of charge to NP-2 employees only.
  • The application process has two steps:
    1. The CEUI application form must be completed and submitted to your Department for supervisory approval.
      (Applications are located at the above web site or through your department).
    2. After supervisory approval, an on-line request to Human Resources for a seat must be made by the employees department.
  • Administrative Deadline: 
    • Submit application to your Department by Friday, February 27, 2015.
    • Departments must submit online seat requests to Human Resources by Monday, March 9, 2015.
  • Employees and Departments will receive seating confirmations by e-mail from Human Resources after March 20th.
  • The schedule of courses begins in late March.
